Downloading the Demo

(If you're a licensed customer already, click here)

The demo is actually the complete program with just two limitations -- up to 100 reservations may be entered, and sites cannot be added (40 sites are already in the sample database, which can be modified any way you choose). There is no time limit when using the sample database included with the demo.

If you would like to set up more than 40 sites and use all functions without reservation limits, see below for 30-day trial information.

To download the Campground Master demo, follow these steps:

  1. Click on this download link: Click Here to download. (If you're using America Online, see the notes below if you have any problems downloading.)

  2. With most browsers, you will see a window asking whether you want to "open" or "save" the file. Choose Save.

  3. Your browser should then show a "Save As" dialog, where you need to choose what folder to save the file in. At the top of this is a "Save In," drop-down list. Select a location in this list where you can easily find it after it's downloaded, such as My Documents. You should also make a note of the filename of the file (in this case is should be "campground_master_install.exe") -- you will need to know that to find it later.

  4. Your browser will then begin downloading the file. How long this takes depends on the size of the file, the speed of your modem, and the level of internet traffic on the server and the internet. Most browsers will show a progress bar so you know how long it will take, but it should be under 15 minutes even with a very slow modem (14.4k), and only 4 minutes at 56k.

  5. When the file is finished downloading, you may get an option to "Run" the program. If so, then you may choose to Run it now.

Otherwise, start Windows Explorer (or open the My Documents icon on your desktop) and go to the folder where you saved the file. Double-click on the name of the file as noted in step 3 above, and it will begin installation. Just follow the on-screen prompts.

    • NOTE: If you get a "CRC error", "Not a valid Win32 application" or "Not a valid Windows program" error when installing: This indicates that the download did not complete properly. This could simply be due to a connection problem, but it can also be caused by security software that prevents downloading "EXE" files. Such programs as Norton, McAffee, or various other anti-spyware and anti-virus programs can cause this. Try the download again, perhaps using a different "Save In" location in step 3. See below for more information.

  • Note to Windows 95 users: This software requires Winsock2, which some older Windows 95 machines may not have installed. If you get a "DLL not found" error message when running the software, you will need to install Winsock2.

You can also order a free demo CD-ROM!
Then all you have to do is insert the CD-ROM and the computer does the rest.
(This is the same demo as the download, just offered as a CD-ROM for your convenience.)

If you have trouble with the download

  • If you can't find the file you downloaded: You must know the filename. In this case, it should be "campground_master_install.exe". If you know the filename, you can click on the Windows "Start" button, then "Find", then "Files or Folders..." and do a search on the filename over your entire computer to find the file.

  • If you get a "CRC" error or "Not a valid Win32 application" error when running the installation program: In some cases your computer's security software or a network firewall will prevent "exe" files from downloading properly. Some versions of America Online browsers also have a problem with "exe" files.
    • If you are using AOL, then you can solve this problem by loading MS Internet Explorer (or Netscape, or other browser) after logging on to AOL, and return to this page in that browser before downloading. Also, If you are behind a company firewall, this may be causing a corrupt EXE download.
    • If you have an unzipping program like WinZIP (or if you're using Windows XP), you can download the program in ZIP format by clicking here: campmast.zip. Once downloaded, open that file and then run the "Setup.exe" contained inside it to install Campground Master.
    • If neither of those will work for you, then you need to be sure that any security software is temporarily disabled, and you need to clear Internet Explorer's "temporary files" (in IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, and select "Delete Files" in the Temporary Internet Files section). Then try the download again.
